Let's read online and find interesting stories about ancient crafts in Vilnius. This publication was financed by the Lithuanian Council for Culture under the project Craft Reflections in Romantic Vilnius implemented by the Fine Crafts Association of Vilnius. This publication introduces the readers to past and present craftsmanship in romantic Vilnius, Unesco world heritage site, also to the activities of the Fine Crafts Association of Vilnius, its contribution to knowledge, research, spread and education of ancient and traditional crafts as well as future perspectives. at the Old Crafts Workshop! Workshop of Cyanotype Postcards Time: August 22, 2 pm - 3:30 pm Location: The Old Crafts Workshop, 10 Saviciaus street, Vilnius Price: 10 eur / 1 person 20 percent discount for persons under 18 years old During the session the technique of cyanotype is introduced and photograms are printed. Cyanotype is one of the earliest photographicimaging techniques that produces a cyan blue print (also known as Prussian / Berlin Blue). Photograms (light silhouettes of the objects on a dark background) are produced when setting a picture of fresh or dried plants, small items and materials on watercolor paper sensitized to the light. This process is very safe and attracts a large number of small andadult participants. People who practiced the cyanotype often conceive a huge desire to make more and more prints. After all, postcards are made by putting together the separate pictures. Masters: Open workshop of photography / Atvirosios fotografijos dirbtuvės Eco ceramics of coffee grounds Time: August 22, 5 pm - 6:30 pm Location: The Old Crafts Workshop, 10 Saviciaus street, Vilnius Price: 12 eur / 1 person 20 percent discount for persons under 18 years old The main goal of this education is to interestingly and originally recycle what seems not usable one more time - coffee grounds. Participants can make decorative articles of various sizes and shapes out of wax and coffee grounds: small bowls, plates, openwork, with cord, with signs...So we invite you to the coffee world full of excitement and creative work! which are a part of the project LET'S MEET LITHUANIA'S CENTENARY TOGETHER: EDUCATIONAL CLASSES OF TRADITIONAL CRAFTS FOR NATIONAL MINORITIES' COMMUNITIES IN VILNIUS CITY/REGION. October 10th, 5 pm. "Drawing silhouette portraits of hundred free Lithuanian citizens" Get acquainted with a very popular leisure time activity of townspeople in 18th-19th century – drawing silhouette pictures. Master: Edita Namajūnienė Duration: 1,5 h. October 17th, 5 pm. "Making of stained glass“ Master: Daiva Jusiūtė-Tarailienė Duration: 1,5 h. Participants will make stained glass pieces by using colors, shapes and symbols characteristic to Lithuania or national minorities. October 24th, 5 pm "Making of Leather Bracelets with national symbols" Master: Martynas Švedas Duration: 1,5 h.
