Master Edita Namajūnienė
During the education participants get acquainted with a very popular leisure time activity of townspeople in 18th-19th century – drawing of silhouette pictures. Once it was the way to capture and trace the changing images of relatives and closest friends. In this way albums with family portraits were created or interior of houses were decorated with silhouette pictures.
Silhouette portraits of participants are drawn with a reconstructed device used to draw silhouettes and natural scale portraits are reduced to the required size by using a pantograph – device invented in 17th century and analogous to machine for enlarging or reducing drawings. After that silhouette pictures are designed and framed. The only thing left is to decorate your walls with these baroque-style portraits or to give them as presents for your relatives and friends…
