
SHORT FILMS - INTERVIEWS WITH ARTISANS OF TRADITIONAL CRAFTS
International project "Revival of Disappearing Architectural Professions (REDIAPRO)"
The old traditional architecture crafts have been replaced by nowadays world, globalization process and popular modern designs of buildings for several decades now and all of it has changed the view to the old crafts both in Lithuania and Europe. However, the old crafts are coming back little by little as a result of growing and strengthening view of ethnology and ecology. This tendency encouraged to create and implement international project "Revival of Disappearing Architectural Professions (REDIAPRO)" which unites organizations in eight countries. These organizations try to encourage the preservation of the old traditional professions, to spread crafts and professions of traditional architecture, to revive and to apply them in the context of nowadays modern life.
The objective of the international project REDIAPRO is to preserve and to revive the old crafts and professions of traditional architecture, to publicize, popularize and apply them directly in traditional and modern architecture.

A SHORT FILM ABOUT MEMBERS, WORKSHOPS, GALLERIES, CRAFTSMEN AND ACTIVITIES OF THE FINE CRAFTS ASSOCIATION OF VILNIUS The Fine Crafts Association of Vilnius implemented an educational project "European Artistic Crafts Days in Vilnius" in 2017. One of the results of this project was a short video about Association's activity. In this video you will also see craftsmen from The Old Crafts Workshop: Daiva Jusiūtė Tarailienė, glass bead maker; Sigitas Tamulis and Rimas Supranavičius, bookbinders-reconstructors-restorers; Martynas Švedas, leather pouch maker; Virginija Rimkutė, spinner, weaver.
